With the average survival time for an unprotected machine coming in at under 10 minutes, I’ve traded in my late night fiction reading for stories of hackers and their exploits.
I figure it’s a fun way to learn something about securing my web based business before I launch. In no way is this a substitute for learning how to secure my code, it’s more of a supplement than anything.
My current reading list:
- Hacker Cracker by Chanoff – It’s a great story and lots fun to read even though only half of the book is about hacking.
- The Art of Intrusion by Kevin D. Mitnick – I haven’t finished it yet but it’s excellent so far. It does a great job at getting its point across: every system is hackable.
- The Art of Deception by Kevin D. Mitnick – Next on my list. This one’s all about social engineering… should be fun.
